Working with a consultant psychiatrist will initially involve an assessment of the patient’s condition and their needs. Follow-on sessions will typically involve a course of treatment to review the patient’s progress and to generally see how they are getting on. If a course of tablets has been prescribed then the psychiatrist will review how the patient is managing with them and consider whether to increase the dosage.
